THE STORY SO FAR

From Miami to Main Street

Manny Mayhem sold gold chains to half of Miami. Then the good times dried up, the store went under, and Manny drove back to his hometown with one cardboard box and the one gold chain he refused to pawn.

He has loved wrestling since he was six years old. At five foot two, nobody was ever going to put him in the ring. So he did the next best thing: he walked into his Uncle Bucks's office and asked to run the old wrestling company Bucks had won in a poker game years ago. Bucks had never even opened its mail.

Uncle Bucks said yes, with one condition: his white cockatoo, Mr. Feathers, would be involved in the day-to-day running of the company. Manny shook on it. Then he painted a new sign, filmed a late-night ad calling for the toughest, roughest ladies in the world, and waited.

Forty of them showed up. The tournament only has room for thirty-two. Welcome to GLAM SLAM ’87.
